Vintage Hollywood Regency Gold Silk Drum Lamp Shades

Lovely pair of "Hollywood Regency" style vintage gold silk drum lamp shades. The spider shade fits on top of the lamp harp and secured with a finial. Dimensions: 9 tall (top and bottom). No visible damage, no visible stains, no repairs, no smells. To the best of my knowledge and limited research, these do appear to be natural silk due to their reaction in direct sunlight. There is an almost shine to the fabric whereas faux silk has a dull finish. The fabric fits taut around the shade and there is the over fabric which is braided. There are a total of 6 over fabric pieces on each lamp shade. The fabric is well connected and there are no loose threads or messy seams.

There are also a total of 6 spines for each lamp shade. The interior of the shade may have some darkening - hard to tell with this color - but assuming they are possibly 40+ years old (or older) I would think it is just a natural darkening from exposure to the old lightbulbs, natural sunlight and other elements.
